  1. There are several words on this list that I use very frequently. I’m not sure if this makes me some kind of linguistic hipster, or if it just means that I am very, very old…

    In any case, I fully support this spiffing notion! I think it’s frightful that oodles of perfectly smashing words are under-utilized these days! Gosh, what rot– it’s awful.

    (That said, I think that they should perhaps be used sparingly. Typing the above did make me feel as if I were preparing for a 1950s play.)
